Day 8 (6th Feb 2013)

Day 8 /  6 th Feb 2013
Nha Trang
A Walk on Nhatrang beach
The over night bus ride was a much better experience this time. There was space for cycles and taking a clue from last time we had packed the cycles. The bus was not over full and we could choose our seats/beds. Bus took stops for food & for getting fresh twice and thus the toilet in the bus was not used much and did not smell at all. The ticket was also much less. We reached Nha Trang at 7 am. Assembled cycles on foot path which was getting busier as the food stalls and noodle vendors were setting up. Then searched for a hotel, and got one near beach at $12 . ( Hotel Song Linh, 64B,15 Tran Phu, Nha Trang ) The hotel had no direct sea view but the beach was just accross the road. Very friendly staff. Freshned up and went to have breakfast, we had just a sandwich for dinner the previous night. Rajoo had his favourite by now, which was 'bun mi' kedar and me had a noodle soup with fish and fried eggs. satisfied, we headed for the beach.
Ropeway to the big island
It was love at first sight :-) miles of white sand, blue waters, lots of umbrellas and bikinis. Rajoo found a micro brewery with a variety of beers and decided to skip the swim, so kedar and me headed to the beach and jumped in, played in the water for an hour and headed back.
After spending some time at comps/internet at reception (we loaded the photos on blog) we took a long walk on the beach. as it started getting dark (6pm) towers carrying ropeway from main land to the island, got illuminated bright white, looked amazing. We are getting impressed day by day with Vietnam. It is a so called underdeveloped country, but more we are travelling, more we are amazed at seeing the infrastructural development all around. Danang was a big city, with big roads, nice buildings, shopping malls. Nhatrang is equally modern but much more beautiful as it is blessed with a long sea shore and one of the most beautiful beach with soft white sand, beach stretching to may be about 8 to 10 kms. Road running all along with beautiful cafe's, restaurants,  and resorts on one side and shops on other. There were flowers and flower plants for sale all along the road beautifying the city further more. It may be because of Tet festival ( New year ) that is going on, the flowers are seen every were, we are not sure whether it is always like that through out the year.

Nhatrang Beach in the evening.
We went for a round around town and then got hungry as usual, went to different roadside stalls tasting various things. Rajoo met an American who has been staying here for more than five years, he gave us a few tips about Dalat, he stays in a hotel and said he stays here almost for free as the cost of living is very low. Decided to head back and pack up for an early departure. We were actually very surprised to know that Dalat was 137km from Nha Trang... lets see how we fare tomorrow...
